Toyota Supra 35th anniversary special edition debuted with Visual Tweaks

Each version is limited to 35 cars, with a four- or six-cylinder engine.

Although the current Supra is only two and a quarter years old, it has produced more special editions that we can count. Toyota will introduce a 35 anniversary special edition in Japan to commemorate three decades since the Supra was first made a standalone sports car. It was originally a Celica version in 1978 and 1986.

What is so special about the 35 th Anniversary model Although there are no mechanical upgrades, the JDM Supra limited-run model gets a variety of visual tweaks. It is based on the SZ-R four-cylinder engine and the beefier inline six RZ. Both share the 19-inch forged alloy wheels in matte black. All cars feature carbon accents in the interior, including the dashboard and front passenger seat.

The SZ-R-based special edition is available starting at 6,535,000 yen (roughly $59,300). It features red brake calipers as well as matte black paint on the side-mirror caps. You can get it in five colors including Lightning Yellow. The interior features Alcantara/leather upholstery, and sport pedals.

The RZ version is more expensive at 7,835,000 yen ($71110). It comes with a larger engine and full leather upholstery. Wireless charging is also available. To further differentiate itself from the lower trim, it features a Matte Storm Gray exterior and completely red seats.

Toyota will only make 35 copies of each edition and anticipates that the limited edition will be highly sought-after. The company also announced that it would hold a raffle on September 7th to randomly select the winners.

The 35 th anniversary Edition follows North America’s A91CF and Europe’s Jarama Racetrack Edition. However, this is not the first time that the JDM-spec Supra has been given the special treatment. The Land of the Rising Sun was presented with a Supra RZ Horizon Blue Edition that has more power, better body rigidity, and retuned suspension in April 2020.
