It is not difficult to start competition.
The Toyota Supra Prepares to race in Japan’s Super GT series in GT300 class. This video captures the vehicle’s development before it starts to race in 2020. It sounds great. Toyota has made this Supra specifically for the series. This is in contrast to other vehicles that compete in the GT300 class. Although the rules require that the racer be the same dimensions as the production vehicle’s, the automaker can adjust aerodynamics, the gearbox and suspension. According to Daily Sports Car, there’s a V8 under its hood.
The Supra looks a lot like the road car. The Supra has wider fenders than the stock car, but they are more noticeable at the rear. It gets a large wing with gooseneck mounting and a similar large diffuser under the bodywork. Toyota will offer a more powerful GT500 version for 2020 Super GT series. It will compete against the Nissan GT-R, and a front-engined Honda NSX.
Toyota will also offer a solution to customers who want to race the Supra. The GT4 version will arrive in Europe in March 2020, and North America in August. The 3.0-liter turbocharged, inline-six engine produces 429 horsepower (320kilowatts) as well as 479 pound-feet (479 Newton-meters) of torque through a seven-speed transmission. The package also includes adjustable dampers and Brembo brakes. These versions aren’t enough. Toyota also has a Supra to support NASCAR’s Xfinity Series. The rules require that the vehicle’s silhouette be modified and the inline six engine is replaced by a V8.
