It appears that there will also be plenty of technology.
For Toyota fans, today was a memorable day. The new Supra was in action, although it was a prototype that is still in camo. We were scooting up the hill at Goodwood. Our spy photographers managed to capture a few images of the interior of the Supra for us to look at.
We last saw the Supra in April. It was barely visible from the lower right, but we did get a glimpse at the instrument cluster and steering wheel. These photos give us a view of the interior. Although many areas are obscured, it gives you a feeling of the cockpit. It is the same feeling that the Supra’s predecessor gave off. Sort-of, anyway.
Although the dash isn’t as wraparound, it will ensure that occupants are comfortable in the car. The center stack is separated by air con vents and a cover that could be covering a second screen. We can see the large infotainment screen. Different trim levels may have a bank of manual controls.
These photos also show how high the center console is between two seats. The Supra will offer manual control via an automatic, with paddle shifters at the wheel. This has been confirmed. A touchpad control is located next to the shifter, which could support the idea of a second screen under the dash vents.
Although it has been a long process, we are now nearing the end. Toyota has stated that the new car will be available for purchase in the first half 2019; therefore, the reveal is most likely to take place six months later.
It will be well worth the wait, we believe.
