Toyota Supra Launch Edition Barely Has MSRP on BaT, Doesn’t Sell

Toyota Supra Launch Edition Barely Has MSRP on BaT, Doesn’t Sell

The car did not meet the requirements.

Update: This Toyota Supra Launch Edition was not reserved after a week of bidding via Bring A Trailer. The highest bid was $56,700. This price is only $1,450 more than the factory MSRP at $55,250. We don’t know what the reserve price was, but other Supra sellers have asked for close to six figures or more. Our best guess is that this seller was looking for something similar.

The site Bring a Trailer sells vehicles at exorbitant rates. In real-world situations, an Acura Integra TypeR will not cost $65,500. A HondaCRX shouldn’t cost $33,600. However, those who are familiar with the “Bring A Trailer Bump” concept in the industry will know that the dealership listing the brand-new Toyota Supra Launch edition clearly sees dollar signs.

This is the one-of-1.500 Toyota Supra Launch Edition (number 996).

Listed on Bring a Trailer

In just one day, the current high bid was $50,550. This is a little less than the Supra Launch Edition’s asking prices of $55,250. However, there are six days remaining on the auction and a high reserve. We don’t think that this price will stay. It’s hard to imagine what this car could bring in once it’s over.

This Supra comes standard with optional Driver Assist package, carbon-fiber mirror caps, and like all Launch Edition Supras. This Supra rides on the same 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (255/35 front, 275/35 back) as the rest of the range. It also has the same turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 335 horsepower (250kilowatts).

The Supra is known for selling well on BaT models, but especially fourth-generation models. A 1993 Supra with 10,000mi, was the most expensive, selling for $128,000 in May. In January, a twin-turbo Supra with 7,000 miles sold for $121,000, while a turbo model with 70,000 miles sold for $87.500 a few weeks earlier.

The Super Supra

Based on the markups we have seen, this Supra could sell for more. It has 23 miles on its odometer. One dealer is asking for $100,000 for the Limited Launch Edition Supra. This is almost twice the MSRP. We will keep an eye on it, but we expect a final selling cost of six figures.
