Only 39 cars will ever be produced. Road-legal conversions are being looked at.
The EF7 will combine the expertise of Emerson Fittipaldi with Pininfarina styling, and HWA’s engineering. It is shaping up as a true match in track car heaven. It is a pure machine, meaning it does not have superchargers or turbochargers.
Engineers were able to reduce the vehicle’s weight to just 1,000 kg (2,204 lb). The engine’s 600-hp output weighs in at just 197 kilograms (434 lbs). A carbon fiber monocoque was also important in the pursuit of lightness and maximum performance.
Emerson Fittipaldi told Automotive News that one of the 39 units in production is available for purchase. The EF7 track-toy costs $1.5million. Prospect buyers will need to contact the company directly to obtain one. There won’t be any dealer network. They will all be made by HWA at Stuttgart’s facility. Each car will be unique to Fittipaldi’s race wins.
Fittipaldi claims that the EF7’s design is inspired by sharks. Pininfarina was able reproduce this effect by giving the track-only beast a angular body and a pointed front fascia. The lucky ones who are able to purchase one will need to travel to Germany’s HWA to have their driver molds taken by engineers to ensure that the fixed seats match perfectly.
The EF7 will initially be used only on the track. However, Fittipaldi says that it will begin to look at the possibility of a road-legal conversion after production of the 39 cars is completed. Deliveries will begin in approximately a year. Fittipaldi expects half of the cars to be sold in the U.S.
