Transporter Driver accidentally invents Velar Convertible

Are you patiently waiting to get a new Velar? We’re afraid your order might be delayed.

You would expect Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division to discuss the idea of a Range Rover Velar Convertible. However, this unique droptop SUV wasn’t developed by the Woking-based SVO team. After the driver failed to lower the top deck, a car transporter carrying Land Rovers ran into trouble with a bridge.

The SUV’s roof was ripped off at impact. This accidently created the first Velar Convertible in the world. This unusual accident occurred earlier in the week on the M61 near Farnworth in the United Kingdom. While the vehicle is now beyond repair, it is important that the driver is safe.

Three vehicles were aboard the transporter. One of them was an Evoque, which was also damaged in its collision with the bridge. The third vehicle, located on the bottom deck of the transporter, was more fortunate than the others as it did not sustain any damage.

This is a miracle! The local police said that the driver of the transporter had failed to lower the top deck after a Bolton delivery. The transporter was on his way to another showroom when he failed to lower the top deck. He smashed into the bridge and was above the legal height.

It is obvious that you have been waiting patiently for your right-hand-drive Range Rover Velar from the Solihull factory. The same applies to the owner of a gray Evoque. Although it appears repairable, Land Rover will build a new one at their Halewood plant.

Maybe this will inspire the automaker to make a convertible Velar, which would be able to join the droptop Evoque.
