Tuned Hennessey Chevy corvette ZR1 Fights McLaren720S In Roll Races

Hennessey’s Corvette ZR1 produces 1,139 horsepower at the wheels.

Although the McLaren 720S supercar is one of the most powerful, it can’t compete with Hennessey’s tuned Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. This video shows the Texas-based company’s ‘Vette.

The Corvette ZR1 produces 755 horsepower (563 Kilowatts) & 715 foot-pounds (969 Newton-meters). But Hennessey does some magic to increase the output of its HPE1200 package from 895 kilowatts to 1,200 horsepower (895 Kilowatts) & 1066 lb-ft (1,445 Newton meters) of torque. The Dyno video below shows the setup producing 1,139 horsepower (849 hp), and 994 lbft (1,348 Newton-meters) at its wheels.

The 720S comes here with a stock 710 hp (529 kW), and 568 lbft (770 Nm) The Corvette’s deficit of 490-hp (356-kW) is too much for the British supercar.

They are racing off the roll. The Corvette pulls away quickly as soon as they press the accelerator and leaves McLaren behind.

The winner of these races is already known so you can just relax and listen to the sound. Hennessey gave the Corvette HPE1200 an upgraded version of the factory supercharger, which whines like a banshee. The upgraded throttle body features a high flow throttle, upgraded pulleys and camshafts as well as ported cylinder heats, valve springs that are more responsive, and long-tube stainless-steel headers. To handle the additional power, the eight-speed automatic gearbox has also been upgraded.

Hennessey charges $59950 for the HPE1200 bundle. To donate the modifications, clients will also require a ZR1.

Tuning packages are also available for the McLaren 720S. The HPE1000 top model includes upgraded turbos, stainless-steel headers, custom engine management and an improved transmission. It would be interesting to see how it compares against the ZR1 in the clip.
