Tuned Hyundai I30 N with 316 HP is a VW Golf GTI Slayer

Although the horsepower gain is not all that impressive, the torque increase is incredible.

Comparative tests have shown that the Hyundai I30 N is capable of competing with the best hot hatches in the segment, such as the VW Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST ST. However, South Korean aftermarket experts are only just starting to work on South Korea’s fiery hatchback.

RaceChip, a Goppingen-based company, has turned its attention to the i30 N in order to get more power out of its turbocharged 2.0 liter engine. The four-cylinder produces 271 horsepower in its maximum state of tune. However, if you give your car to skilled tuners, they will deliver a hefty 309 horsepower. Although the horsepower increase over the stock model is not impressive, we think the torque boost is even more impressive. It has gone up from 353 Newton-meters (260 pounds-feet), to 498 Nm (367lb-ft).

There’s more. Chip tuning alone can give you the output boost, but an HJS downpipe pulls more power out of your engine to get a grand total 316 HP and 524 Nm (386 Lb-ft).

This Hyundai is fast and has a remarkable power jump. However, there are many other modifications. RaceChip has replaced the stock wheels with OZ Racing Leggera alloys with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Performance springs reduce the ride height by 15 millimeters (0.6 inch) The changes are completed by an anti-roll kit from Eibach, and a discreet Schwabenfolia body wrap. The HJS downpipe, mentioned earlier, not only unlocks more power but also allows the engine to produce a more aggressive sound.

RaceChip announced via a comment on its Youtube account, that an identical engine upgrade will be made available in the United States to the Veloster N.
