Tuner Gives Porsche 911 Turbo Carbon Fiber Body, 650 HP

The 911 Turbo’s sporty appearance is complemented by raw carbon fiber.

Russian tuner Topcar has now launched its almost complete carbon fiber body replacement for the refreshed Porsche 911 Turbo last years. Topcar offers a limited number of three Carbon Edition sports cars which combine this lightweight upgrade with other improvements.

Many aftermarket companies offer body kits that only replace bumpers and trim. Topcar is a step above the rest. Except for the roof and part the doors, everything is now made of carbon fiber. These components are left unpainted for the Carbon Edition. This allows everyone to see the changes and can appreciate them. Topcar charges 37.500 euros ($39.600) to purchase this 17-piece set, plus an additional 4,200 euro ($4440), for the GT3RS-style front fenders. The Carbon Edition also includes a set ADV.1 21-inch-wheels.

The Carbon Edition gets a power boost of 650 horsepower (485 Kilowatts) versus 573 horsepower (427kW) in the stock Turbo S. Topcar does not detail the changes but it includes an upgraded exhaust from Capristo.

Topcar will likely find buyers for all three of the limited edition examples. Porsche has a 911 Turbo with a higher performance engine for customers who prefer it straight from the manufacturer. Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche, confirms that the new 911 GT2 will be available with the seven-speed dual clutch PDK. The tuned biturbo flat-six 3.8-liter engine produces around 655 hp (485kW). The rear wheels are the only ones that produce power, but Porsche’s rear wheel-steering system is said to aid handling. Spy shots reveal that the coupe features a ground-scraping front splitter as well as a gargantuan fixed wings. The GT2 will be unveiled at an auto show this year.
