Most of the body is now carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic
The famous Japanese racing team ARTA unveils a revamped Acura NSX that has been sold as a Honda in Japan. It transforms the vehicle’s appearance and adds a quad exhaust arrangement that somewhat evokes a Pagani Zonda. The asking price for the creation is 25.3 million Japanese yen (current exchange rates: $2222,348). Only five are being made.
65 percent of the Legavelo exterior is made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). New parts include a revised front fascia that has larger inlets and a large hood with many vents. They also feature ducts at the top of their boxy front fender flares.
The rear section of the body is also more angular, with the fenders and inlet. Attached to the rear deck is a small wing. Below the bumper is the quad exhaust layout in a square configuration.
ARTA also offers twill-weave carbon fiber panels for the interior. Alcantara is used to cover the seats, steering wheel and door panels.
The company does not mention any powertrain modifications to the NSX. It comes with a twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 and three electric motors that produce 573 horsepower (427 megawatts).
Honda is saying goodbye to the NSX as production will cease in 2022. The Type S, which has 600 horsepower (447 kW), is the final product from the company. 50 percent faster shifts the nine-speed dual clutch gearbox. The optional Lightweight Package includes carbon-ceramic brakes and a carbon-fiber interior trim. This reduces the vehicle’s weight by 57.8 pounds. (26.2 kg).
350 units are available worldwide for the NSX Type S. There are only 300 units coming to the US and 30 for Japan. The US price range starts at $169,500 and the Lightweight Package costs $182,500.
