Hydro dipping, as the name implies, is a method in which printed graphics are applied to an object. This could be anything, from a pen to a car’s body panel. Although we have seen many creative uses of this technology, this is the first time that we have ever seen it in action.
This video is from the YouTube channel by Marko. He’s a young man who has many crazy ideas and is a talkative individual. TheDrive brought his latest clip to our attention. It shows hydrodipping of a complete vehicle. It doesn’t require disassembling. Yes, it’s possible.
Although we aren’t very familiar with hydro dipping technology, we assumed that it required more than water and paints to add graphics to an item. Marko and his team put an Honda Civic in a hand-made pool of water, and then applied spray paint to it. The hubcaps were supplied with a separate tub of water.
The old sedan had been prepared with a layer white primer before that. While it wasn’t the best job, these little details don’t really matter. Was the end result satisfactory?
Watch the video to see the results. Don’t forget to skip the boring intro speech. The car’s new look is amazing considering the DIY conditions under which it was made. Spray paint is uniform and the paint swirls on the different panels match. That was the point of the experiment, wasn’t it?
We forgot one thing. Although the Civic is no longer available for driving, it’s still very attractive.
