Willpower is amazing, but why not make it more useful?
Remember the episode of Seinfeld where George Costanza was fighting for a spot with another driver. It happened in real life. It was worse. The footage was not filmed from a window in a nearby building, even though it was taken on April 1. The footage shows two cars in Koreatown waiting patiently to take over an empty parking spot, but neither of them is willing to give up. We are clearly on the team black car because we can see it backing into the parallel parking maneuver, while the silver one is trying to get in. Not cool at all.
These incidents are common no matter where you live, but they rarely last more than a few minutes. According to the Twitter user the trivial dispute that took place in Los Angeles at 6:20 PM ended around 8 PM. The dispute ended when one of the cars parking on the street side drove off to take over another spot.
Although life is too short to get into arguments about a poor parking spot, our heroes weren’t willing give up. This is a great example of using your willpower in a negative manner. Even though the driver of that black car was correct, it’s just not worth wasting nearly two hours. You need to learn how to choose your battles, as the old saying goes.
Witnesses claim that there were many empty parking spaces down the same street. However, the drivers of the silver and black cars were only interested in the one spot. This makes the whole story even more absurd.
These are the Twitter tweets that detail the K-Town incident as it occurred. There are many of them.
