It should be available soon.
Since our first glimpse of the 2023 BMW M2 in its raw form, it’s been over a year. Since then, our spy photographers have taken several photos of the car being tested and we are still waiting for its debut. Although BMW is still covering the car up in the latest batch of photos, the photos also show the interior.
BMW covers the majority of the M2’s dashboard. However, many of its features are left undiscovered, which reveals a significant shift. The M2 will come with the brand’s dual screen dashboard display, which is a trend in BMW’s lineup. This display will include BMW’s latest iDrive 8 infotainment system. The regular 2Serie will get the new display and dash layout later.
Although the exterior of the M2 is still hidden by a camouflage wrap and is not visible to the naked eye, the styling is much more aggressive than that of the 2Series or even the hotter M240i. To increase airflow, the lower bumper is now designed with vents in the lower corners of the headlights. This M2 appears to have a titanium exhaust. This could indicate that it is also the Competition variant.
The M2’s new engine will be a modified version the M4’s 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine. According to rumors, the car will produce around 450 horsepower (335kilowatts in Competition form). The M2 regular will produce a little less. Although the engine will drive the M2’s rear wheels, it is not clear if drivers will be able to use a manual gearbox. The M2 could only be an automatic vehicle. Rumours also suggest that BMW is working on a hotter M2.
BMW teased the 2023M2 model late last month and said that the model would be produced at the San Luis Potosi Mexican plant. BMW also announced that the production of the 2023 M2 will begin in 2022 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the BMW M. BMW has not yet revealed when the new M2 will be revealed, but we doubt the company will delay.
