Global Focus ST is equipped with a 2.0 Liter EcoBoost that produces 250 PS (184kW/247 hp) as well as 360 Nm (265lb-ft).
Ford calls the Focus ST a global performance car, so the North American version we see here will be very similar to the one that Ford introduced to Frankfurt in September.
Ford does not specify how much power the Focust ST North American model will get from its EcoBoost turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine in its press release. The figure in Europe is the same as the concept model last year: 250 PS (184kW / 247 HP) and 360 Nm (265lb-ft). The transmission will be a 6-speed manual gearbox.
For improved cornering and sport suspension, the Focus ST will have a tuned version the Torque Vectoring Control of the standard Focus. It also features 18-inch alloy wheels.
The 2012 Ford Focus ST will go on sale in all major markets worldwide early next year.
