Underground Racing, a North Carolina-based tuner, is well-known for creating twin-turbo engine units in-house. They have announced that they have developed the first twin-turbo Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.

Underground Racing started development immediately after the Aventador was released. They admit that Lamborghini made it difficult for third-party engine tuning in order to maintain product integrity. Underground Racing was able to overcome them with some compromises.

Underground Racing stresses that they will not sell the Aventador twin-turbo kits as a complete engine rebuild at this time. Underground Racing stated that the UR TT Aventadors would only be available with full engine builds. We have identified certain conditions that make this a condition.

The demonstration model is now complete. Initial testing has produced some impressive results. The twin-turbo Aventador was able to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 2.2 seconds using OEM street tires and normal air pressure. Underground Racing estimates that the horsepower of the Aventador (measured at its wheel) is approximately 1200hp, although it is not certified. Underground Racing’s Quickshift upgrade was also used to improve the shifting speed.

Underground Racing will keep the details of their twin turbine system to themselves. However, the next step is pushing the limits of the twin turbo Aventador. Underground Racing will release more videos about the Aventador so keep checking back.
