We challenge you to find the changes.
A few images showing the facelifted 2018 BMW M2 have been posted to the iPad edition of the Belgian company’s website. The M4 Coupe, which is the flagship of the 2 Series, has received only minor cosmetic changes.
It will appear almost identical to the current version, even to the untrained eye. You’ll notice the modified full-LED adaptive headerlights with “angel eyes”, which have a more angular shape instead of the circular one. This is a small, but effective update.
The rear of the car was updated in the same manner, with the taillights getting a subtle makeover that is likely to go unnoticed by most people. Although images of the interior cabin aren’t available, the most significant (and possibly the only) change to the car will be the new version of BMW’s iDrive infotainment software.
Bavaria’s Life Cycle Impulse to the M2 will continue with its turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-Six engine, which produces 365 horsepower (272 Kilowatts) as well as 343 pound-feet (465 Newton meters) of torque. It will take 4.2 seconds to reach 60 mph (96 km/h), and it will peak at 155 mph (253 kph).
We’ll need to wait until next year for something more powerful. BMW will release the M2 CS, which has more power and weight in the same vein of the M4 CS. You will be able to get it in limited quantities.
These updates to the M2 will naturally trickle down onto the lower members of the 2 Series lineup. A full reveal should happen very soon, given the “accidental leak”.
