It maintains the overall design of the concept.
The Audi A6 E-Tron was unveiled last year. Our spy photographers captured the model at a supplier and have since taken it to our testing. These new photos show the model at a supplier with camouflage concealing the design. It looks different from the Audi concept.
The overall design of the car is unchanged, but the roofline falls to the rear. The car’s front now features a prominent split-headlight design. Although the concept had thin lighting units over fake intakes, the car seen in spy photos appears to have a completely redesigned front end. We don’t know if there have been any significant styling changes but it is difficult to tell from the photos.
The Premium Platform Electric architecture, jointly developed by Porsche and Audi, will be used to support the A6 E-Tron. Both companies will use the platform for a range of future vehicles, including the Audi Q6 E-Tron as well as the next-generation all-electric Porsche Macan.
The powertrain details are still unknown, but the concept car was shown with a dual motor configuration that produced 470 horsepower (350 Kilowatts) as well as 590 pound-feet (890 Newton-meters). In less than four seconds, the concept car could reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) and accelerate to 100 km/h in 62 minutes. The PPE will provide fast-charging capabilities for the A6 Etron, charging the EV from 5 to 80 percent in 25 minutes. The PPE should provide the model with a great range.
The Audi A6 E-Tron will be riding on the PPE platform. However, it won’t the first PPE-powered model to arrive. The all-electric Macan and the Q6 Etron are expected to make their debuts later in the year. We also expect the A6 Etron to join them, although a 2023 announcement wouldn’t be surprising. Although the A6 E-Tron is expected to arrive in the USA as a 2024 model by now, there are many things that could happen between now and then that could disrupt this timeline. The A6 Avant E-Tron concept will also be available soon. It shows off an extended-roofed version.
