Vandal One has a Civic Type R engine in the Ultralight Package

Companies such as Ariel, KTM and Radical offer a range of lightweight models that are suitable for those who want a car designed for racing. There is room for a new competitor in this market. Vandal Cars, U.S.-based, believes so. They’re ready and waiting to launch their first product, appropriately named “One”.

This back-to-basics track toys is a delight for purists. It weighs in at just 1,224 pounds (555 kgs), thanks to a carbon fibre monocoque that’s wrapped in a carbon-fiber body. The engine’s heart and soul is the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline motor borrowed from the 306 horsepower Honda Civic Type R. Ariel Atom 4. The original Vandal One offers 320 horsepower, but the new Vandal One adds 20 HP to bring it up to 340 horsepower. The hardcore R version, which is capable of producing a staggering 560 horsepower at a blistering 9,000 rpm, will give you even more power.

A six-speed sequential gearbox by Sadev is responsible for putting all that power to wheels. The suspension, which is derived directly from Formula 1 cars, features a pushrod front setup and rear with adjustable dampers. The package also includes anti-roll bars, custom spring rates, and four-pot aluminum brake calipers that are paired with ventilated wheels to produce more than 2Gs.

The Vandal One was designed for track use and comes with an advanced cloud-based, telemetry system that can record almost any type of information drivers might need. The company calls it the “world’s most advanced remote driver coaching program and app.”

The base model starts at $119,700, before taxes. To be added to the waiting list, you will need to deposit $1,000. The first customer deliveries will take place in the second half of this year.
