The GTS flagship version has 404 HP and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm).
Vanderhall, a Utah-based company, made a name by creating a number of extremely cool three-wheelers. Most of them are powered by turbocharged engines from General Motors. The Edison 2 is also available, which eliminates the combustion engine and has a fully-electric powertrain. Although the new Brawley is an EV, it’s significantly different from any Vanderhall before. It has four wheels. It was designed to be an off-roader. The 35-inch tires are as big as the Jeep Wrangler with Xtreme Recon Package or the Ford Bronco Badlands Package Sasquatch. The Brawley’s 22-inch suspension travel means it can go anywhere without having to use fuel.
The GTS version is range-enhancing and features four electric inboard motors. One for each wheel. This gives it a combined output power of 404 horsepower and instant torque of 480 pounds (651 Newton-meters). The 40- or 60-kWh batteries provide the electric motors with their power, while the former can deliver up to 200 miles (322 km) in the case the latter.
It has a fully enclosed cabin with four seats and is more car-like than other Vanderhall models. You get a removable roof, heated seats, windshield wipers, and air conditioning. The Brawley, like other EVs has regenerative brakes. It’s also worth noting that it features carbon-fiber brakes similar to high-end electric cars such as the Porsche Taycan or Audi E-Tron GT. The Brawley will be available from Vanderhall for the 2022 model year. Pricing has not been disclosed but it is expected to cost significantly more than the $34,950 Edison 2. You’ll get a retro-styled electric off-roader with four wheel steering and see-through doors. The minimalist interior allows you to focus on the road ahead.
