Monterey Car Week ends with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The automotive extravaganza always ends with a bang. The beautiful backdrop of the Pacific Ocean is a great way to showcase these vehicles. Motor1‘s gallery takes viewers to the stunning scenery of the show to see the beautiful vehicles displayed.
Every year, the organizers of the Pebble Beach Concours create a few classes to highlight exceptional cars. This year, Isotta fraschini from Italy was one of the featured marques. This luxury automaker was founded in Milan in 1899. It pioneered four-wheel brakes.
The New World vehicles were also highlighted by organizers with a special class , “American Dream Cars of the 1960s” which showcased high-end American-made cars. A Studebaker concept was created by Brooks Stevens, and a 1965 Bugatti C101C Roadster was built by Virgil Exner. The body was made by Carrozzeria Ghia.
The gallery also features some stunning Ferrari One-off Speciales. These include a roadster with tailfins to evoke an American car of the 1950s, and a coupe equipped with pop-up headlights.
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance judges select a Best in Show car that exemplifies automobile perfection each year. The Mercedes-Benz S Barker Tourer 1929 was awarded this honor.
