It can reach speeds of 124 mph faster than an average hatchback’s 60 mph.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S can go fast. The four-door delivers 630 horsepower (470kilowatts) from the twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 motor. Mercedes claims that this is enough power to propel the not a sedan sedan up to 62 mph (100 km/h), in just 3.1 seconds. The 63 S made its debut last ye. It has been a popular choice for YouTubers and auto outlets alike, simply because it is so unusual to see such straight-line performance in what otherwise would be a practical family car.
The GT 63 S in Action:
However, this particular AMG GT 63 S has been modified. Performmaster has modified the engine. Although we don’t know the details, the video at top shows that the engine produces 730 horsepower (544 kW). This is a significant increase over stock and does result in some extra thrust off of the line. However, it is not a lot – the telemetry of this sprint returns a 0-62 speed of 3.0 seconds dead. This is only a tenth better than what MercedesBenz claims.
This isn’t to say that this car isn’t amazing for any vehicle, not even one with five seats and four doors. The sprint to 200 km/h (124 miles per hour) takes 9.9 seconds. In December, we saw a stock GT 63S do the same thing in 11.24 seconds. While there are some factors that can affect traction and atmospheric conditions, it won’t account nearly for a 1.5 second advantage. This blue bomber would have a car length advantage if the two runs were held side by side.
The video ends with the 0 – 200 km/h run, but we are eager to see more modded Mercs doing full-on speed runs.
