Complete makeover of a Phantom eight year old.
The latest project was undertaken by the Vilner , a Bulgarian tuning atelier . It used a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe that was purchased in 2010 to undergo a complete renovation and interior rebuild. The tuners chose a balanced approach to the design and chose to keep the “gentlemen’s club atmosphere” rather than go radical.
Vilner transformed the cabin of this luxury droptop by using “several meters” of durable, white leather. The attention to detail that RollsRoyce puts into every piece of work has inspired the Sofia-based company to mark the central sections with a double-R pattern. This is a tribute to Charles Rolls and Sir Henry Royce, who founded the automaker. These tiny holes in the leather upholstery help with heating and ventilation.
The seat belts, edges and headrests are now in cherry color to match the beautiful exterior. Vilner explains that cherry was the choice of the owner, who chose it from the more than 44 000 color options Rolls-Royce offers for the model. The interior design of a convertible is much more responsible. The exterior and interior of the car can be seen simultaneously.
The dashboard has also been rewrapped in a special anti-UV-impregnated leather that minimizes reflections. All wood panels, including those on the door cards and dashboard, were refinished with three layers lacquer, and then polished twice. A set of custom black floor mats completes the look.
Vilner is best known for its interior and exterior tuning projects. The 6.75-liter V12 under the hood has remained in stock.
