The second-generation $156,000 Nissan NSX is expected to be in production by late April. According to Matt DeLorenzo, managing director of Kelly Blue Book, it will “right there at top” among the most expensive cars made in USA. The assembly will be done at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. Once production begins, the NSX could overshadow the Dodge Viper, which is currently the most expensive American-built car.
Even though Ford will begin production of the $400,000+ GT, it will still be the most expensive car ever built in America. This is because the supercar, unlike its predecessor, will be built in Canada by Ford supplier Multimatic Inc.
Acura has opened the order books for last month. The plan is to produce 800 units in 2016. Deliveries in the United States will begin shortly after production begins, while Europeans will have to wait until the fall. The price of a range-topping NSX equipped with all available options is $200,000, which will end at $205,700.
The convertible version of the model will likely be available in the future. This will make it even more expensive. Acura is also considering a hardcore type R, which will be the top-of-the-range model, at a cost that matches its status.
