The Jaguar XKR was used to create the Growler, which celebrates the 50th anniversary Jaguar E-type. It features a lightweight composite body and retro styling.
Vizualtech, a Swedish design company, was commissioned by an anonymous Swiss businessman to build the Growler E.
The Jaguar’s current design direction was not satisfying the owner. He wanted a new car with the original design, but updated with the most recent technology.
The Jaguar XKR is the basis for the Growler. It features a lightweight composite body and retro styling.
The supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine will provide 600 horsepower (447 kW/ 608 PS) under the hood. The 1,550-kg (3,415 lb), coupe should be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h within four seconds.
Vizualtech construction will start in 2012 if everything goes according to plan. If there is enough demand, Vizualtech could produce additional units. According to the company, pricing ranges from PS420,000 (EUR488,225 / PS682,670) to PS850,000 (1,381,760 / EUR988,205).
