Volkswagen has revealed the Cross Coupe concept, which has been updated with a TDI plug in hybrid powertrain. The Cross Coupe concept was also revealed by Volkswagen. This same platform will be used in the new Audi A3 as well as future models like the VW Golf VII.
The upgraded concept’s focal point is its new powertrain. The powertrain consists of a turbodiesel direct injection engine (TDI) of 2.0 liters and two electric motors. It has a fuel consumption of only 1.8 liters/km, CO2 emissions of only 46 g/km (130 MPG US/156 MPG UK), and performance figures that are comparable to other models.
It has a combined output power of 306 PS (225kW / 302 HP) and 700 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 6.5 seconds (0-62 MPH) and has a maximum speed of 220 km/h (137 MPH).
The Cross Coupe Concept will it make it into production? Although there aren’t any confirmations, it is highly probable that we will see the powertrain in vehicles such as the Audi A3 or Volkswagen Golf.
