In China, the first production version of VW’s first fully electric sedan will be sold.
Since a long time, we know that Volkswagen will launch a fully-electric four-door sedan. The concept version, originally called Aero B by spy shots and teasers, was to be displayed in China in April. However, it was delayed due to the pandemic.
It’s official, Volkswagen has released its production name, the ID. Aero. The concept version will be shown first in this month’s edition. The German marque also shared a teaser image of the design study (see below), which will eventually become a production vehicle.
The ID is VW’s first fully electric sedan. Aero Concept’s teaser shows a flowing form that almost resembles a fastback. The tailgate-wide LED graphic is worth a lot of attention. The ID is described by Volkswagen. Aero is described as “outstanding aerodynamics and elegant design with generous space.”
The teaser was only a concept. Although the production version is slightly different from the sleuth shots, it has been cleverly disguised to conceal the crucial details. The lines and fastback look exactly like the teaser.

Volkswagen has confirmed that the ID. The Aero Concept will be fully revealed on June 27, 2022 at 8:00 AM. ET. In China, the production version will first be sold in 2023’s second half.
The ID will continue to be available in North America and Europe. Aero will be available in 2023, although there is no timeline. It will be manufactured in Emden’s Volkswagen plant.
