Volvo 740 owner with a million miles receives a new S60 for free, but there’s a catch

This Volvo is not the first to join the million-mile club.

Modern cars are more reliable than ever, despite being far more advanced than 30 years ago. Modern cars are more reliable than ever. However, there are still many things that could go wrong. With proper maintenance and quality parts, modern cars can last a lifetime. There’s still something authentic about an older vehicle, even though technology has made them more sophisticated.

Missouri man Jim O’Shea doesn’t need his car changed every few years like many others. This 740 GLE has been his vehicle since day one. It was purchased new just over 30 years ago. His uncle and father owned a Ford dealership at the time. He returned home with a Volvo. He promised to drive one-million miles in the sedan, and he achieved that milestone back in November. Volvo Cars USA is now rewarding his loyalty. He made a stop at the West County Volvo dealership, where he was given the keys to the brand-new S60 Sedan. Stephen Lynch, the general manager of the dealership, was the one who sold Jim the 740 GLE in 1991. We couldn’t be happier that he earned it.

Jim O’Shea will be able to drive the black sedan for two years as a loan car. He will also have all maintenance and insurance. The subscription to Care by Volvo includes a 24-month all-inclusive subscription. While it is not a permanent gift it is a lovely gesture from Volvo and a smart marketing move. The 740 GLE was not involved in any accident. Jim’s wife did hit it three times. After years of heavy use, the original engine had to be replaced at 585,000 km (941 466 kilometers). A couple of gearboxes were also needed. He promised his father that he would return the odometer back to 000000 and he kept his word. Jim could not bear to see his father pass away.

As you may recall, a 1966 P1800 with a staggering 3.25,000,000 miles (5.3 million km) is far less impressive than this Volvo. It holds the Guinness World Record for the longest non-commercial vehicle to achieve.
