Volvo Minivan rendering is a bizarre, but awesome idea

Are there any chances of it being produced? Close to zero.

Although we are likely to be the minority, we must say that we love minivans. Although they may not be loved by every editor at Motor1.com, the general consensus is that these family haulers are better than the trendy SUVs. There are only a handful of minivans available these days, compared to tens or hundreds of high-riding utility vehicles.

Volvo is one of the top brands with a solid SUV lineup. Although it has not yet produced a minivan, the Swedish automaker is determined to keep the sedans/wagons alive . Our Kolesa.ru colleagues are fixing this issue with their latest digital design exercise. It depicts a Volvo minivan.

This virtual car isn’t a traditional MPV, but we have to admit that it doesn’t look very much like one. Although it is more like a wagon with higher roofs, the sliding rear doors look classic minivan-like. Volvo’s current model range inspired the front end, which features T-shaped LED daytime running lamps and headlights. The rear end is completely new, except for the bumper. It features interesting L-shaped taillights and a unique design.

The Volvo Concept Charge is probably the closest rendering to this rendering. The brand’s fully electric plans were revealed last summer as part of its electrification strategy. Although there are some similarities in the form of the vehicles, the concept is more futuristic and has sharper lines.

There are very few chances that we will see a Volvo minivan production in the near future. While the Swedish brand is committed to the SUV and crossover segment, the brand will continue to make wagon and sedan body styles for years to come.
