The new generation Volkswagen Transporter is now available in Europe. It was only a matter time before we saw the factory VW camper van based on this bus. The German company has now revealed the new California camper van. It will be displayed at the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf at end of the month.

The new control panel, which is located in the overhead console, is one of the most important features of the cabin. It now boasts a large, multi-color display, which allows you to control the sunrise function, the living area’s lighting, and the pop-up roof, when it’s operated electro-hydraulically. The new angle monitor that measures the length and crossways of the camper is a very useful feature.

The digital instrument cluster is another important onboard technology that should be mentioned. It provides information about the journey and audio system. California 6.1 will come with two information options and two navigation options. The optional eSIM feature allows for access to online services and applications.

The new camper van’s mechanicals switch from hydraulic to electric power steering, allowing for more precise and dynamic steering. All models come standard with Cross Wind Assist and Lane Assist.

A range of 2.0-liter diesel engines provide power, and all meet the Euro 6d Temp emission standards. All models are available with both a front-wheel drive as standard and an optional all-wheel drive.
