Volkswagen is one of the oldest car manufacturers, so it’s no surprise that it has a huge collection of prototypes and concepts. Some of these gems can be found at the VW Classic warehouse, Wolfsburg, where around 200 cars are housed under one roof. Jamie Orr , a YouTuber from, had the pleasure of seeing these vehicles.
The tour begins with two famous race cars, the ID.Rs from Goodwood or Pikes Peak. The Golf GTI TCR Mk8 is the one that really caught our attention. VW had announced in December 2020 that it would cease all motorsport activities. This also meant the end of its Touring Car Racing program. It’s camouflaged because the car was not officially revealed. However, you can clearly see that it would have been a big beast.
There are also a few electric Golfs that were available in the past, as well as the Cross Country, which is undoubtedly the most fascinating Golf of all.
