Parts include signals for mirrors and spoilers.
Volkswagen announced the US-bound Golf GTI and GolfR around six months ago. The company today announced a new line of accessories for hot hatches. These goodies will give the five-door a subtle visual overhaul with unique wheel caps and lighting elements as well as new body components.
Hein Schafer is the senior VP of product strategy and marketing at VW of America. He said that “the GTI” was VW’s most famous enthusiast vehicle. Its owners have a long history of customizing the car to suit their lifestyle and personality. We are proud to offer a wide range of dynamic options to assist them in this endeavor.
Oettinger designed the new GTI parts. The company continues to collaborate with Oettinger. VW provides owners with a new front spoiler ($510), an upgraded rear diffuser ($591) and a roof spoiler ($510). VW states that the parts can be painted and installed by any VW dealership or independent autobody shop.
New Dynamic Wheel Center caps are also available from VW. They can be either the GTI logo or the R logo. These caps keep the logo steady and level even when the tires and wheels move. The new caps will be available in early 2022. Volkswagen doesn’t yet list the GTI and R caps. A set of four Dynamic caps featuring the VW logo is available for $181.
VW’s last-minute GTI product is the dynamic turn signals for its side-mirror housings. These are Osram. They move sequentially from the mirror’s inner edge to its outer edge. These signals can be purchased in pairs for $265 and require no programming. These are only a few of many aftermarket parts and accessories VW has available for the new Golf GTI/R. Unfortunately, they didn’t offer any new interior products.
