VW apprentices are back at work – this time on a GTI hatchback and an R wagon.
VW has posted more images of its Golf GTI Aurora with the hologram installed in the trunk. You can configure the sound system using the operable hologram.
Volkswagen made an important debut at 2018 Worthersee. It brought the high-powered Golf GTI concept, which went on to become a manufacturing model a few short months ago. The up! concept was introduced a year earlier. The GTI concept was unveiled at the event. It went on to be a road-going vehicle available at any VW dealer in Europe. What will this year bring? VW doesn’t seem to be planning any debuts. However, the company’s apprentices are going to be there to show off two unique items, one more desirable than another.
The Golf GTI Aurora was built by an apprentice team from Wolfsburg. It features a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that produces 380 horsepower (279kilowatts). This power is channeled to the front axle via a seven-speed DSG. This one-of-a-kind car has been painted in Audi-esque Nardo Gray with a black finish at its back and adorned with Mint Green accents. The body kit that was just acquired was actually hand-painted.
Apart from the updated look and beefier TSI engines, the golf GTI Aurora boasts a powerful 3,500-watt soundsystem as you would expect from a car at Worthersee. The interior images are not yet available, but VW claims that the apprentices removed and modified the center console so they could display engine and vehicle data. A tablet is located on the passenger side of the vehicle to access this information.
For those of you who are reading Motor1.com in the United States, the other car is a forbidden fruit. The GolfR Estate has been in existence for many years in Europe. This wagon is not your average all-wheel-drive model. Apprentices from VW Saxony increased the engine’s power to 400 HP (295 kW) in order to match the golf R400. The DSG is linked to an AWD system. This model also has seven speeds.
The full name is VW Golf Estate FighteR. It measures 6 cm (2.36 inches), wider than the standard model, thanks to an aggressive body kit. They have added lights to the roof and a 360-degree camera. This was used in a lap around the Sachsenring.

The wagon is also painted in Nardo Gray, but with Crystal Silver accents and Piano Black. The strobe lights are mounted in the grille. On the inside, there is a full leather look with Alcantara inside the cargo area. A custom sound system was also installed.
