This year, Polo and Ibiza will get a facelift.
Volkswagen Group held its annual media conference just a while back. It shared a 371-page document detailing what happened in 2020 due to coronavirus, as well as prospects for the next year. The PDF contains details about product launches that will take place between now 2021. Here’s the VAG plan.
The ID.5, which we all know by now, will be launched by the VW core brand along with a compact SUV coupe. This latter model is likely to be the European version of the Nivus, as the MQB-based model will go on sale in 2021 in the Old Continent. It will also enter production in Pamplona (Spain). Three-row ID.4 Crozz, ID.4X and ID.6 will be coming to China in the latter part of this year. A Tiguan from India is also due. The agenda also includes the Taos from North and South America, and the Tarek Russia.
Skoda will be updating the Fabia with the next-generation model, while the Kodiaq will get a mid-cycle facelift. The India-only Kushaq small crossover will be revealed in days. Although not mentioned in this document, the Enyaq electrical SUV is likely to receive a coupe-styled GT derivative.
Bentley will introduce a plug in hybrid version of its Bentayga, along with another PHEV model. This would make it either an electrified Continental GT GT or Flying Spur.
Lamborghini will have a slow year as the document mentions only the Huracan SM0.
Porsche has a busy year ahead. Apart from bringing Taycan Cross Turismo on the market, it also plans to update the Macan with a “product upgrade”, presumably the next generation EV version. A new 911 model will also be available, the long-rumored Safari variant.
Bugatti plans to add a new member to its ever-growing Chiron family. The identity of the new W16 hypercar will not be revealed, but Bugatti, a Molsheim-based marque, has stated that it is done with speed records. It’s unclear if it’s the long-rumored roadster. The company has repeatedly denied plans for the Chiron’s roof to be removed.
