VW ID.5 is ready for production after being tested in the snowy north

It will be available later in the year.

Automotive spy photography is fascinating, to say the very least. These photos show the slightly rounded coupe-like Volkswagen ID.4. It is also known as the ID. This prototype was captured in bright sunlight at a well-known testing area. It gives us a fantastic look at the future electric crossover. This is not the only interesting part.

The test vehicle is identical to ID.5 sightings. It has minor camouflage. VW attempts to imitate the Opel Grandland X by covering the fascia with minor camouflage. The grille camouflage reminds Kia. The sides and sloped roofline of the vehicle are revealed, where we can see the obvious resemblance with the ID.4 already revealed. It is also easy to spot the round VW badge at the rear hatch.

The prototype was being driven by a group of Volkswagens. A blue T-Roc pulled alongside the prototype to protect it from the camera. It is funny that Volkswagen was driving a prototype without any camouflage. It’s not as though the ID.5 was never seen before and the T-Roc screen maneuver was too little too late. The driver did not flip a middle finger at the camera , as we witnessed recently with a Ford driver behind a camo-wrapped Mustang testing mule.

There is not much VW can hide about the ID in reality. The ID.4 will get a sportier version, which will use the same electric powertrain. At launch, it will have a single motor setup. A dual-motor option is coming later. We love the ID.5’s roofline that looks like a couple, but with camo at the front, we wonder if it could be differentiated further. This question will most likely be answered by the end of the second half this year. VW will then unveil its latest road-going electric vehicle for the European market.
