It will be on American soil by 2024, but there is still plenty of time. Get to know the ID. Buzz from A-Z. The Wolfsburg-based manufacturer just released a documentary to help us accomplish that mission. It explains in detail how the bus was designed, engineered and built.

Tobias Twele is the project manager for Volkswagen Comercial Vehicle’s Oldtimer department. He is the host of this video. He presents the first electric VW Transporter, which was prototyped back in 1972. The results of a fleet of test vehicles were released in large German cities, but they did not meet expectations.
We now move on to the modern version of this vehicle, the ID’s first prototype. Buzz was built in 2020, two years before the market launch. It was the first time that digital drawings were transformed into a vehicle. It was a beautiful moment.
