VW Jetta European spec introduced

The European Jetta will offer more engine options and more luxurious trim options than the North American model. The engines range from the 1.2 TSI, which produces 105 PS (77 kW), to the 2.0 TSI, which produces 200 PS (147 kW), with a 1.6 TDI or 2.0 TDI diesel.

Volkswagen introduced the European edition for the Jetta model.

Although the Jetta was initially launched in North America earlier this year, Volkswagen has introduced a European version with a new set of engine options (and more of them) as well as more luxurious interior trim options than the model that is available in the US.

The European Jetta is now longer than its local counterpart at 4.64 meters. It also comes with a variety of engines, starting with the 1.2-liter TSI (77 kW) with 105 PS and going up to the 2.0-liter TSI (147 kW), on the petrol/gasoline. A 1.6 liter TBI with 105 PS (77kW) and a 2.0 Liter TDI (103kW) are available on the diesel side.

Only the 1.2 TSI or 1.6 TDI engines can Blue Motion technology be used. On power plant offerings beginning at the 1.4 liter TSI (90 kW), the DSG dual-clutch transmission is available.

Volkswagen’s three most popular trim levels will be offered on the Jetta: Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline in Germany, and S, SE, and Sport in the U.K.

The European Jetta has a four-link rear suspension, just like the Golf. Electronic steering is standard.

Prices for Jetta start at EUR20900 in Germany. Prices for the U.K. are expected to start at approximately PS17,000.
