VW says at least two more Crossovers are coming to the USA

They could be anything.

Volkswagen continues to expand its range of SUVs and crossovers. The German automaker unveiled the Atlas Cross Sport last week. This is a two-row version the Atlas SUV that the company launched for the 2018 model year. This is not the only high-riding vehicle VW has in mind for the U.S. Scott Keogh, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, stated that at least two additional crossovers will be coming to the U.S. in an interview with .

According to Keogh, both will be smaller than Tiguan. The one will be an entry-level model, while the other will be a higher-end offering. Keogh did not provide further details on the models. However, he said that VW has a huge opportunity to succeed with smaller crossovers, which will greatly benefit the automaker.

The SUVs and crossovers are booming in sales at the moment, and even VW can see the potential for greatness. The U.S. has seen 52 percent of the company’s sales this year thanks to SUV sales. This is a vast improvement on the 14% of VW brand sales in America three years ago. This share should increase if VW adds two smaller models to its SUV range. Although it’s not known when these new models will arrive, it seems that the crossover and SUV craze won’t be slowing down anytime soon, despite falling sales of new cars overall.

The T-Cross, T-Roc are two examples of VW’s smaller crossovers. The company doesn’t sell either model in the U.S., so it’s unclear if they are the same models Keogh refers to or if there will be two different models. Americans love large cars, so it seems smart to develop two models in order to have the greatest success with U.S. buyers.
