Next month, the VW Touareg Edition 20 will be available.
Volkswagen Touareg celebrates its 20th anniversary by launching a special edition model. The Touareg Edition 20 is the name of the model, and VW has added unique design details to it.
The Touareg is given a unique Meloe Blue exterior paint. VW also adds high-gloss Bogota 20-inch Bogota wheels to commemorate the anniversary edition. The automaker darkens the sides and rear windows, and adds Edition 20 branding to the pillars. VW gives the wheel arches, rear diffuser and wheel arches a glossy black finish.
VW keeps the Edition 20 theme going inside. The Edition 20 logo is engraved on the sill panels. Interior also features black Savona leather seats, with diamond stitching, and Ceramique (light-beige) contrasting Ceramique. Red and beige piping is added to the dash panel and steering wheel. The Edition 20 logo is also applied to the leather gearshift lever. The special edition model includes both VW’s Travel Assist as well as its Innovision Cockpit, which has a 15-inch infotainment screen.
The package will include four drivetrain options: the V6 TCI, V6 TSI and the plug-in hybrid V6TSI. The PHEV has the highest horsepower, generating 375 horsepower (280 kilowatts) as well as 442 pound-feet (602 Newton-meters). All four powertrains can be paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system of VW.
VW has discontinued the Touareg’s sale in the US. The brand discontinued selling the Touareg in the USA a few years back. VW still offers the SUV in other markets, where it has had success. The SUV has been sold more than one million times since its introduction in 2002. It was introduced by VW in 2002 with a 5.0-liter V10 TDI Diesel engine, which produced 553 lb-ft (750 Nm of torque)
