Volkswagen announced that the W12, 6.0-liter TSU engine has been introduced. It will power several high-end models in the group.
The new twin-turbo W12 W12 6.0-liter engine from Volkswagen Group was unveiled at the 2015 Vienna Motor Symposium. It will be available in a production model next to the Bentley Bentayga. It will be found under the hoods of the next generation Audi A8 and Bentley Continental.
Volkswagen claims that the W12 engine will be available on the second-generation Audi Q7, which is US-spec. This new large engine, which is described as track-ready, will likely be used in high-end sportscars. In the future, it will be improved to produce more power than the 608 PS (647 kW / 600 bhp) and 900 Nm (663 Lb-ft) respectively.
VW claims that the next generation of A8 and Phaeton with W12 will return 22 mpg US (or 26.4 mpg UK) in combined cycles. This makes the motor nearly 30% more efficient than the outgoing 6.3-liter W12.
