In the spring 2022, these unlikely racing heroes will be available for purchase.
Here’s a quick overview to the 24 hours of Lemons. You can buy a car for $500 and bolt a dinosaur head or spaceship to it. Then, you can paint it strikingly and race it for 24 hour. This is the ultimate in cheap, not-remotely serious racing. Over the years, the series has produced some truly memorable automobile creations.
Johnny Lightning wants to ensure that at least some of these historic moments in motoring history remain preserved in 1/64 scale. The world of Lemons is collapsing into miniature diecast cars. This leaves us with one question. Why did it take so long to make this happen?
The first in a series of diecast Lemons cars by Johnny Lightning. Obsessive followers of the not-ready-for-primetime racing league will instantly recognize this infamous Stain Your Lane Racing Honda known as the Trailer Queen. It’s a 1998 Civic Hatchback that pays tribute to the interesting clothing choices of Peg Bundy, from the TV classic Married With Children. It’s a more refined looking vehicle than the rest of the world of Lemons. However, it’s still a fantastic choice for starting the diecast run.
The new 1/64 cars will not be available for the holiday season of 2021. The Trailer Queen Civic will be available in March 2022. However, you can find it in almost every toy car store once it is released. What about other Lemons cars? Johnny Lightning has nothing to say about the other Lemons cars, but there are hundreds of memorable machines and races to choose from. There is plenty of inspiration for future diecast projects.
