This hatch is very hot.

The Opel Kadett, a car that was otherwise unremarkable built by the German automaker in different forms up until 1991, is another example. This car is ideal for escaping from a bank robbery. It blends into traffic. The Cvdzijden Supercar Videos YouTube channel captured a not-so-plain Kadett during the RACE1000. Although it’s not obvious that something is wrong under the hood of the Kadett, a quick look will reveal its true power.

The engine is a turbocharged, 16-valve 2.0-liter that produces 1,250 horsepower. You read that correctly – 1,250 horsepower. This hatch pushes Bugatti power levels, even with an undisclosed amount torque. The video description states that the car comes from WKT.

The RACE1000 is a race between cars to see who can run a half-mile in the fastest time. The Opel tuned Opel can travel an incredible 195 miles per hour (314 km per hour). This is insanely fast. It’s evident that the driver’s chair is missing. However, the rear seat may also be missing. The video doesn’t show this clearly. Only the carpet remains in the center console. It appears that the instrument panel, which includes HVAC and radio controls, has been removed. You must reduce weight if you want to drive a fast car.

The video clearly shows that the car is very difficult to launch. The accelerator produces torque steer, which spins the tires. Once the hatch is moving, it rockets off. On the runway, the Opel can be seen moving between the shifts depending on how much power is being applied to the wheels. You can also observe the helmeted driver’s head move back and forth during acceleration.

This Opel Kadett, 1,250 hp, is a wonderful example of a sleeper. It looks simple but packs a big punch when needed. It’s not necessary to have that much power in a classic hatchback. But it looks great.
