There’s a reason.
It is not often that you will see a police car speeding through a city center, while someone in its back seat stares at the onlookers. This is something that you won’t see unless your are in Luton, England.
Bedfordshire Live covered the video below. The BMW police car driver seemed to be trying to make a donut, but couldn’t quite do it. Instead, the BMW police car was driving tight circles and losing traction occasionally.
The bizarre sight of a man watching the world from his police car was a puzzle to many. A statement was even issued by the city council on its Facebook page. We’ve seen the viral video of a police car making donuts outside Town Hall. It was a production company using the area for a TV series. The council stated that it was not our Bedfordshire Police friends showing off.”
Reddit also saw the video posted by, but it didn’t have the context that it was staged. Many commenters believed that what they saw was real. This wasn’t an endorsement of the actions of the Luton cops.
According to Bedfordshire Live, there is no information yet on the show that’s filming this stunt. It is a comedy, however. We also wonder why there aren’t visible cameras to capture the action. It must have been expensive to rent a police car and get filming permits. So it is strange that there aren’t any crews nearby. This production may be low-budget, considering the driver’s inability make a good donut.
Hot Fuzz is the place to go if you want some real stunt driving with British police cars. The movie is a wonderful mix of comedy and horror, even when you aren’t enjoying the action.
