The mini Batmobile delivered an impressive performance, but the VW I.D. was more impressive. R still reigns.

The McMurtry Speirling’s 41.29 second attempt is still the fastest overall, even though it failed to beat the Volkswagen’s. It beat the time of 41.60 seconds set by McLaren-Mercedes MP4/13 1999. Max Chilton, an ex-F1 driver, was the pilot of the Speirling at Goodwood this year. He was also responsible for the development of an electric fan car. McMurtry Speirling, a single-seat, pure electric track car with a power-to weight ratio of 1,000hp/tonne and a weight of less than 2,205 pounds (1,000 kg), is the McMurtry Speirling. It can reach 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 1.5 seconds. faster than a Bugatti CHiron. The track toy uses twin fans to pull air from underneath the car. This allows it to use 4,409 lbs (2,009 kg) of downforce when needed – twice its own weight. The Speirling can produce more downforce at 150 mph (241 km/h) than an F1 car.
