This is not the M3.
The BMW M3 takes over its natural habitat, Germany’s Autobahn. BMW M is the best manufacturer of autobahn cruisers. They build the vehicles that can take on the Nurburgring, then cruise on the Autobahn at triple-digit speeds. AutoTopNL tested the new G80 BMW M3 with a manual transmission BMW M3.
The G80 BMW M3 has much to prove. This car is a continuation of a long tradition of high-performance cars that have given the name heritage. BMW has also given the G80 a new design language to keep it fresh and appealing to buyers. This controversial design has been a focal point of BMW M3 and M4 conversations since a while and sometimes overshadows the G80’s performance.
High-speed autobahn runs are the rage today. For 2021, the BMW M3 will be available in two versions. The base model produces 473 horsepower (350 Kilowatts), and the twin-turbo 3.0-liter Inline-6 produces 406 lbft (550 Newton meters) of torque. The BMW M3 Competition has 503 horsepower (375 Kilowatts), and 479 lbft (650 Kilowatts), of torque from a modified straight-6.
The base model is the best choice if you want a manual transmission M3. The 6-speed manual is not able to handle the additional power and torque from the M3 Competitions engine. You will need to shift your own gears only with the base engine.
All-wheel-drive M3 is the future of sedans. It promises more acceleration and greater usability. While all-wheel drive won’t help with high-speed Autobahn runs such as this, it gives M3 customers the most options available so that the M3 is even more appealing to them.
