In just 3.2 seconds, you can go from 0 to 62 mph in a matter of seconds while in second gear.
Audi has revealed the 2019 and subsequent adaptations of the new “Performance”, which replaced the “Plus” moniker. It’s been over two months. The German supercar has received a lot of improvements to its performance on the track.
The suspension technology of the R8 has been improved. It now allows for more separation between drive modes within the drive select dynamic handing system. The Performance trim has three settings: snow, dry, and wet.
The V10 Performance’s engine now produces 612 horsepower (456 kW) as well as 427.8 lbft (580Nm) via the V10 powerplant. This is an increase of 9 HP (7 kW) or 14.75 lb-20 Nm from before.
How do these changes affect the actual driving experience? You can see the acceleration and track test video at the top of this page. The R8’s launch control system will display the R8’s 0-62 mile per hour speed in 3.2 seconds.
Audi has subtly updated R8’s aesthetics but it is deemed to be effective because the changes are just enough to show that the R8 has something new.
The 2019 R8’s most notable change is its fascia. It now has a wider grille and three flat air-intakes. To give the R8 an aggressive look, a corner air intake was also added. The rear changes are more noticeable, with the two large exhaust tips as well as the continuous rear vents. The rear diffuser has also been increased in size. There are no interior updates, except for new upholstery trims.
Audi will start selling the 2019 R8 in Germany and other European countries at the beginning 2019
