No roof? No windshield? No problem.
There are supercars, hypercars and normal cars in the world of motoring. But there is also crazy cars. Although it is debatable which Lamborghini SC20 belongs in the best category, it definitely doesn’t belong there. It is a supercar. Yes. It is a hypercar. It certainly qualifies with its 770 horsepower (566kilowatts) 0-60 times under three seconds. Is it insane? It all depends on your feelings about a hypercar capable of traveling 200 mph without a windshield or roof.
It’s a better question to ask, “How crazy must the driver be in order to take the wheel?” The SC20 is still a bit strange to us, since it was launched on December 16. Although it is a stunning display in its first photos, this video shows that it is more than just something to admire. It doesn’t seem to be tearing around Monza’s track, but the helmeted pilot certainly isn’t going easy. In this instance, the helmet provides protection in case of an accident. A fully open-cockpit Lambo, like the way the seat cover is flapping behind you, is very windy.
The SC20 was built by Lamborghini Squadra Corse for a particular customer. It is a road-legal variant of the SCV12. These cars are basically versions the Aventador SVJ that can reach well over 200 mph. It also holds the Nurburgring production car lap record . It is possible to have difficulty breathing if the SC20’s Alcantara-clad SC20 seats have people unprotected.
The SC20 has an open cockpit and a multitude of wings, vents, carbon fiber, and other features. The SC20, even with its windshield and roof, would stand out in an Aventador family full of special editions and submodels. As the Aventador’s long run is likely to end, there won’t likely be any more.
