The livestream will begin at 1 PM Eastern/ 6 PM GMT.
After a busy 2020, which saw multiple product launches throughout the entire range, 2021 looks set to be equally as busy for Nissan. While the next-generation Qashqai (Rogue Sport North America) has been teased, it will be revealed later in the month. In the meantime, a double world premiere of the Qashqai is planned for today.
As part of the transformation plan, the all-new Frontier truck will be unveiled shortly. The Pathfinder midsize SUV and Frontier truck will also be revealed soon. These new products are essential to Nissan’s continued health. This is especially true for the pickup, which has been in its current form for 16 years. It was also launched in 2008, making it one of the most popular models in its category.
The sneaky teaser image that was included in the video debut for the Navara facelift (Frontier for South America), revealed the unorthodox front design of the US-spec 2022 Frontier. The 3.8-liter V6 engine, which debuted with 2020 Frontier’s Frontier, produces 310 horsepower (231 Kilowatts) as well as 281 pound-feet (381 Newton meters) of torque through a nine speed automatic transmission.
The spy shots (above) of the prototype showed that there will be significant changes inside the cabin. This is not surprising considering the truck’s age. The touchscreen display will be larger and more modern. There will also be a dial that can control the transmission case for 4WD Hi, 4WD High, or 4WD Low modes. To keep up with the 2021 standards, Nissan has also rearranged HVAC controls and upgraded connectivity.
Our spy photographers have also spotted the next-gen Pathfinder, which was spotted in the absence of the 2021 model year. The model’s name was revealed in a teaser video, and it had a boxy and upright tailgate. We expect the taillights to be shorter and mounted higher, with the front lights similar to the latest Rogue.
One prototype was taken up close. It featured a smaller dashboard that integrated more functions into a tablet-like infotainment on the top of its center console. The prototype also featured a shift-by wire gear selector, which freed up space between the front seats. Because the central air vents are no longer adjacent to the display, they have been moved lower with a row buttons between them.
We’ll have all the details and photos soon. The 2022 Nissan Frontier livestream and the 2022 Pathfinder livestream start at 1 PM Eastern, or 6 PM GMT for European viewers.
