Watch The Mid-Engined Corvette C8 Go From 0 to 60 MPH in Just 3.3 Seconds

Chevy’s 6.2-liter LT2 engine is a motivator.

Production of the 2020 Chevy Corvette C8 has begun. Although vehicle production was expected to begin before the end last year, GM’s timeline was delayed by the UAW strike. The new Corvette mid-engine Corvettes have finally been completed and are on their way to the assembly line. We will soon see the sports car on the roads. We can still enjoy the car by watching the TFLnow YouTube channel, which takes us behind-the wheel for a brutal 0-60-mile-per hour run (96 km per hour) in 3.3 seconds.

This is slightly slower than Chevy’s claimed time of 2.9 seconds on Z51-equipped Corvettes and 3.0 seconds on non-Z51 Corvettes. It’s still a great time to do a sprint on the street in spur of the moment, though we wouldn’t condone it. There could be many reasons that the Corvette’s speed dropped, such as cold tires or an untreated road surface. But 3.3 seconds is fast enough to get the attention of law enforcement. It’s likely that the bright Torch Red paint doesn’t help.

The video then dives into the Corvette’s many features. It costs close to $75,000. The Corvette’s new 6.2 liter LT2 V8 produces 490 horsepower (365 kilowatts), and 465 pound-feet (603 Newton-meters). The Z51 package comes with a sport exhaust and increases both power and acceleration by five.

This video goes into great detail about the car’s features, including the infotainment display and instrument cluster. You can expect many videos of the Corvette doing its best on the drag strip and race track as the new sports car is released to customers. Keep checking back.
