Watch This Semi Driver Get Out of a Police Chase by Crashing Into a Criminal

You can’t ignore the law or the laws of physics.

Residents of Pomona, along with other Southern California communities, were witnesses to the lengthy police chase that took place on April 6. It quickly became viral because it was so abrupt. According to our knowledge, there were no injuries from the chase and the pickup driver (who’s allegedly a suspect in murder) was taken into custody. It’s great news! But it wouldn’t be possible without the assistance of a semi-truck driver. We do not recommend that anyone take action during a police pursuit. This is aside from keeping out of harm’s path. And we hear this plea often from law enforcement. The chase started at 5:00 PM local time, and traveled through four counties before arriving in Pomona where it was stopped by police and the 18-wheeler.

The video at the top is set to begin shortly before the final impact. The Toyota Tacomaweaving in a shopping center parking lot, then zipping past a station before briefly stopping. At first glance, it might seem that the semi-truck is an innocent bystander, as the pickup crashes into the truck. The semi-truck suddenly accelerates forward as soon as it sees the Toyota turn left. This causes the Tacoma to crash into the truck’s front. That’s not how you drive away.

The semi driver stated that the act was intentional to erase all doubts. According to the Los Angeles Times, the semi driver was just trying to get the pickup off of the street and wasn’t waiting for him. The Toyota’s driver Michael Caleb Reed is now a suspect in a March murder. According to reports, a female passenger in the pickup was taken into custody and released. She stated that she didn’t know Reed was a suspect in murder. The Tacoma did not hit a semi; it also hit a Volvosemi. The pickup may be dead, but the rig will still work fine with a new headlight.
