This camper trailer concept is nothing but cool.
Regular Motor1.com readers will know that we love cool overlanding gear and great camper trailers. This trailer is certainly interesting as it’s based on a marine mammal. Yet, the Whale Trailer Cabin is a fascinating trailer with its many expanding sections that make it easy to ponder Herman Melville’s classic, Moby Dick.
It is possible that there might be some campers who are obsessed with this clever camper, just like Captain Ahab. Why not? This single-axle trailer can be transported in a compact and easy-to-tow manner. Its organic shape with blue-over-white gradients gives it a whale-like look. It is up to you whether this appeals to your tastes, but it will not be confused with the many striped white trailers at the campground.
This is especially true when the Whale Trailer Cabin has been set up for camping mode. The rear can open up, allowing for a slide-out interior that can move forward. This nearly doubles the living space. The slide section has a small pop-up roof that increases headroom. A large pop-top on its main body adds more space. Side access allows for quick and easy access. A slide-out kitchen lets you entertain outside when it’s nice. The rear clamshell can be left open to enjoy beautiful views from inside the house.
What are the details about this campervan? At this time, we don’t have any details. This concept was created by Hu Yong from China and is aimed at Chinese camping enthusiasts. It was recently awarded the Red Dot Design award and is currently in development for production. We don’t know when the trailer will be available. However, if it does become a reality, we hope it expands into other markets. It looks amazing, and it has a unique design.
